My
Story
In 2018, I became a certified personal trainer, but my fitness journey began long before then. The gym has always been my sanctuary, a place where I could momentarily set aside my worries and prioritize self-care. My struggle with depression traces back to early childhood, with my first memories emerging at the age of 7. By the time I reached 11, thoughts of suicide had already crossed my mind. Multiple traumatic events continued to unfold throughout my youth, persisting until I turned 16. By 19, I found solace in alcohol as a means to numb the pain, reluctant to seek help, convinced I was going insane. Unbeknownst to me, I was experiencing psychotic depression. The culmination of these challenges led me to a dangerous incident at age 24 when I nearly drowned in the bath after consuming excessive alcohol and passing out. After consulting a doctor, I was referred to a psychiatrist, marking the start of a long journey toward mental health recovery. I’ve heard comments ranging from, "How do you not know you have depression? You're a textbook case," to, "You are remarkably resilient." A pivotal turning point in my recovery was discovering kettlebell training. What began as a physical challenge evolved into a powerful tool for mental clarity and emotional strength. Fitness became more than just a routine; it was a lifeline that helped me regain control, build resilience, and find peace within myself. This profound impact led me to become a trainer. I wanted to share the transformative power of fitness with others, combining strength training with mental wellness practices like yoga and meditation. Through this journey, I’ve learned that physical strength can deeply influence mental health, and I’m passionate about guiding others on this path to holistic well-being. As I approach my 40s, I’m embracing the happiest and most fulfilling phase of my life. Becoming a yoga instructor has felt like the perfect fit, as though every step of my journey has led me to this point. I believe the challenges I've faced were purposeful, shaping me into someone driven to help others. My natural inclination to offer guidance, combined with my outgoing, empathetic, and open-minded nature, inspired the creation of **Bonds Bells** – a 6-Week Transformation Program. This holistic wellness program focuses on kettlebell strength training, yoga, and meditation to help calm the mind and create balance in daily life.
